Current Ministers
Hello everyone, and thanks for using this website. There are a lot of resources for us here including FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions), Links to great resources, and most importantly, the Current Schedule, and other Scheduling Information.
In order to save time, money, and especially PAPER, we ask that if you do have internet access, that you download the Liturgical Ministry Schedule off this site. You can download the schedule from the panal on the right. It comes in two types: schedule by date (what we usually give you), or schedule by minister (you can look up your name and see when only YOU are scheduled). You may also click on the "Calendar" link and download the schedule by what weekend it is on. If you are not able to download it because you do not have the program, "Adobe Acrobat Reader," you may click the link below to download a free version that will allow you to view these documents.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions for the website, or if you have any questions, concerns, comments about your ministry. Thanks for all you do!
Many Blessings,
Kelly Barth
Director of Liturgical Ministries

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) EMHC's
Who is suppose to Purify the Vessels, and what do #'s
2 and 3 do?
The priest/ deacon of the mass do all the purifying right
after
communion. EMHC #'s 2 & 3 are responsible only for cleaning the
cups (chalices) after mass. This also means that if you are at a mass
with only one species (body), you have NO responsibilities unless the
priest asks you to clean his personal cup. Remember, the vessels will
be cleaned several times over the weekend, so you don't need to scrub
them too thoroughly.
If you are assigned the #1 spot, when are you suppose
to go to go get the Ciborium?
The general rule is that you should start moving towards the
tabernacle at the END of the "Our Father."
Where do I go after I get the Ciborium?
Take it directly to the Altar and wait for the Presider
to
What if I do not wish to receive the wine even though
I am an EMHC?
If you do not wish to receive the wine, simply bow and say
"AMEN"
and do not put your hands up to receive. The distributer will
then know that you respectfully decline.
How come the
Cup distributers are so far away from the bowl distributers on the
position chart?
On the revised Positioning Charts, you may have noticed that
the Cup
distributers are spread out a little more than before.
Although
you do not have to go to the exact precise spot the chart indicates,
the idea is that we want you more spread out so that the congregation
can move about more freely.
What if I can
not make it to an assigned mass?
We understand that there are times where you simply cannot
make it
to a scheduled mass. We simply ask that you attempt to find a
sub
using the old (but updated) Sub Lists in the commons, or you make use
of our new Emailing system to ask for a sub. If you simply
cannot
find anyone or it seems to be too late, please call the office so we
can mark the sign in sheets with a "needs sub" next to your name so the
Ushers know who will and will not be at a mass in order to make
adjustments as needed.
Lectors
What are we
responsible for if we are Lector #1 when there are two readers?
You are responsible for the First Reading and the
Announcements at the end of mass.
What are we
responsible for if we are Lector #2 when there are two readers?
You are responsible for the Second Reading and the Petitions
(Prayers of the Faithful) after the Creed.
How can I
practice the dreaded NAMES that I'll have to read in the petitions
before mass?
The best thing you can do is call into the office during the
week
before you are suppose to read. Dina, Fr. Harry, and/or Kelly
will be able to tell you who your mass is being said for and how you
pronounce their name(s). In order to do this, you MUST call
BEFORE Friday at 5:00 p.m. (which is good, because we don't usually add
any names after Friday afternoon).
Servers
How do I know
what Position I am assigned to each week?
The order in which your name appears on the schedule tells you
what
number you are. #'s 1 and 2 are the Servers for the mass, and
#'s
3 and 4 are the Candle Lighters.
